| There are a variety of ways in which you can be involved at Front Porch. Feel free to stop in at any of these events.
Coffee House:
The Front Porch Coffee House is open for the university community
to enjoy coffee and free wireless internet. With comfortable couches,
good study areas both for individual and for groups, and outdoor gazebo, top-notch coffee
and a library of books available to borrow- the coffee house serves
as the daily hub of life at the Porch.
Mon.-Thurs 8:45am-noon
Sun.-Thurs 8:00pm-midnight.
The Porch:
Wednesday nights we gather at 6pm at the Porch for a home cooked dinner (provided by First Presbyterian), a time of worship, and thoughtful dialogue. Our Director, Patrick Hall, along with outside speakers will deliver talks on the theme "Navigating Relationships in a Complex world."
Sunday Morning:
Join us for worship! Grab a seat during the 11:30am service at First Presbyterian Church- the college students tend to sit near the front on the left. At 10:00 we gather at the church to be led by Patrick Hall and Sam Moore to explore the book of Daniel. Once a month we take this time to enjoy a meal together at one of the eateries downtown. Contact us for rides!
First Presbyterian Church is located downtown at the corner of Marsh and Morro.
Life Groups:
At Front Porch we believe that community can be enjoyed on several levels. One of the most important is in the smaller setting of 5-10 students coming together to encourage and enjoy one another as we learn how our faith intersects with our daily life. Student led, these weekly groups begin at the start of each quarter. If you are interested in trying out a Life group, please contact Patrick Hall or swing by the Coffee House for more information.
Service Projects:
Each quarter we head beyond campus to share our time and talent with those who are in need. In the past these projects have included serving in local homeless shelters and serving with Habitat for Humanity. .
Missions:
Just as it is crucial to come alongside those in our community who are in need, so it is important for us to broaden our hearts and minds to those in need around the world. Last year a team of 13 students experience an life-changing trip to Guatemala. This spring break we will be traveling to the Domincan Republic.
Contact Patrick Hall or stop by the coffee house for more information about these opportunities to serve.
